The answers to this week’s quiz

Here are the answers to this week’s quiz.  A tricky one this week, so well done all that tried to get their head around the answers.  Indeed, as befits any quiz that focuses on Italy and State Aid, you will see that it was possible to get 11 out of 10 this week.

1             No.  Four years is not slow work when it comes to assessing state aid cases

1a           Bonus point if you added – in Italy

2             Yes.  Justice delayed is justice denied

3             Yes.  Money paid to Alitalia can be assessed as state aid

4             Yes.  That money can be reclaimed

5             No, that money does not need to be repaid

6             No.  That money is not now helping the new Alitalia-esque airline ITA

7             No.  There is nothing strange about ITA taking over Alitalia’s slots/staff/aircraft which had been funded, in part by that money

8             Yes.  This is obvious ‘economic discontinuity’

9             No, the money paid by the Italian government to ITA is not state aid, it is the sort of thing any sensible investor would have done

10           Yes, we do think you should keep a straight face when considering this.
